Context
The Mousset group is a haulier from the Vendée region of France, specialising in particular in refrigerated and food transport, and today one of the largest transport groups in France. In 2011, operations needed a single tool to:
- manage the vehicle fleet;
- assign drivers;
- track trucks by geolocation;
- send transport assignments to drivers.
What I did
- Defining and scoping the need with operations: the most demanding part of the project.
- Writing the requirements specification.
- Managing the roll-out of the ANDSOFT TMS, chosen by the client through its own tender, through to go-live: coordination, testing, user support.
Results
- Project delivered in 6 months.
- Vehicle and driver schedules managed in the same tool, together with assignments.
- Better management of driving times: operations know exactly which driver to assign to which job, a major advantage for multi-day trips.
- Truck geolocation: when a new job comes in, operations immediately see which truck is best placed, and respond faster.
