Supply chain & IT
project management
An IT project to scope, restart or secure? Scoping, governance, schedule, risks and decisions. Connecting the business, the vendor, the integrator and IT through to go-live.
Independent consulting · Supply chain & IT
I am Jérôme Dumas, an independent supply chain and IT consultant. I support your planning, logistics transformation and data governance projects, from scoping to go-live.
A project does not succeed because a tool has been installed.
It succeeds when the sponsor is committed and the right people, the right data and the right routines come together.
What I bring
Hands-on and leadership experience to scope projects, get teams working together and make change last.
An IT project to scope, restart or secure? Scoping, governance, schedule, risks and decisions. Connecting the business, the vendor, the integrator and IT through to go-live.
Scattered forecasts, stock that is hard to control or an S&OP to structure? Forecasting, production planning, business rules and decision routines that give teams a shared direction, while improving the quality of your data.
Unreliable master data and unclear responsibilities? Clarifying responsibilities, mapping systems, cleaning up master data and building the workflows and KPIs that keep master data quality at the right level.
A process to improve before choosing a technology? Connecting business needs, processes and technology.
Exploring AI when data and use cases allow it.
Structuring your data for AI.
Do you need to launch an ERP, WMS or TMS, or bring visibility back to a project under way? I clarify the need, responsibilities and success criteria, then coordinate the business, IT, the vendor and the integrator.
What we build: A shared scope, a roadmap, governance and risk tracking. Test scenarios and go-live preparation check that the solution fits how people actually work.
Experience: Orange: e-commerce processes and WMS specifications. Transports Mousset: ANDSOFT TMS project from requirements to go-live.
Forecasts spread across several spreadsheets, or inventory decisions that are hard to share? I help you define the planning level, business rules and decision routines before choosing or upgrading tools.
What we build: Explicit objectives, defined responsibilities and a common process linking forecasts, capacity and operational decisions.
Experience: a major HVAC company: SKU Science in SaaS and a monthly review with sales. Haulotte: forecasts centralised in DynaSys, clear RACI and a common workflow.
Is unreliable data slowing down operations or putting your IT project at risk? I help you identify critical data, define who creates and approves it, then organise its control and monitoring.
What we build: Clear responsibilities, workflows and quality KPIs that are useful to the business. The goal is to make data quality manageable over time.
Experience: Sanofi: PMO of a global data governance programme, operating model, KPIs and business workshops.
Do you want to save time on a process or test a new use case? I start from the teams’ real work to pin down the problem, compare options and check the value of a solution in the field.
What we build: A defined need, test criteria and lessons learned to decide on roll-out. For AI, data quality and the relevance of the use case guide the approach.
Experience: Microstore: RFID tag and reader tests and inventory process validation. Sanofi: AI documentation agent POC put into production.
CSR & environment
Environmental issues play a growing role in supply chain decisions. I help you build them into projects and operational choices, taking account of regulatory requirements and company priorities. The goal: make the supply chain a lever for sustainable progress and performance.
Experience at every level
Experience
Consulting assignments and in-house roles: the context, my role and the results.
Outcome: a master plan with two costed options, delivered to management to inform its strategic decisions.
Results: inventory in under 30 minutes instead of 2 hours, with a team of 2 instead of four teams.
Results: data with an owner, a single source and rules known to all. €15M stock reduction, measured, from identifying duplicate items and pooling purchases between plants. Other gains, real but not quantified during the assignment.
Outcome: solution live in all 3 countries. All other tools were retired in favour of a single platform: harmonised creation processes, controlled document update workflows, and everyone knows which version to work on.
SKU Science implemented in SaaS mode, accessible on the web, to roll out a lightweight solution quickly and learn by doing. Before choosing the tool: clarify objectives, organisation and stakeholders. What to forecast, at what level, to inform which decisions?
Outcome: one set of forecasts for the whole group. Everyone knows who does what and when, and S&OP is based on figures everyone recognises.
Within the Supply Chain Excellence unit, which helps the group’s business units improve their supply chain, I ran transformation projects at several European sites.
Roll-out of the ANDSOFT TMS, from requirements to go-live: specifications, coordination, testing and user support.
Results: over 4,500 orders a day, service level up from 75% to 99%.
How I work
My role is to bring clarity, create the conditions for success and help teams move forward together.
Listen to the business, observe flows and separate symptoms from causes.
Define objectives, responsibilities, milestones and success criteria.
Coordinate stakeholders, handle trade-offs and make decisions visible.
Involve the sponsor, explain the purpose of changes and support teams through to adoption.
Test with users and check results over time.
Insights & lessons learned
